100% natural Ametrine from Bolivia
Ametrine is cut from nodules, leaving a dull surface from the saw. To improve appearance and marketability, the stones are tumbled for a polished finish. Tumbling may also help bypass Bolivian export restrictions on rough stones by giving them a 'finished' look.
The world’s only commercial source of ametrine is the Anahi mine in southeastern Bolivia. Legend says a Spanish conquistador discovered it in the 1600s and introduced ametrine to Europe by gifting specimens to his queen
