Merelani Mint Garnets - Tanzania

Merelani Mint Garnet is a rare green grossular garnet from the Merelani Hills of Tanzania, mined alongside Tanzanite but found in much smaller quantities. Though chemically identical to Tsavorite, Mint Garnet is distinguished by its lighter saturation. The line between the two is subjective, with no formal industry standard defining when Mint becomes Tsavorite—making the distinction more about dealer convention than gemological criteria
