Facet rough will always be the driving force of my business. Rough combines all of the things I find so fascinating about my work: the hunt, learning about cultures while in pursuit of the stones, the thrill of not knowing what the next find will be, the adrenaline when a parcel of exceptional stones is laid out in front of me, the pure unadulterated color of fine stones and the potential locked away in each piece of rough. These factors all combine to make it hard to call what I do a job - it is a passion in the truest sense of the word.
The photo on the left is while I was waiting to board a plane for Africa. The photo on the right is on my way home after 6 weeks in the African bush with a backpack full of precious rough.
