Strontium Titanate

Rare large size!

Strontium Titanate (moh's hardness of 5.5) was a popular diamond simulant in the 1950s before the era of YAG,  GGG, and CZ.  It particularly stands out for its incredible dispersion of 0.190.  Diamond, in comparison, has dispersion of 0.044.  That's over 4x greater!

Retail names included: "Fabulite," "Diagem," "Marvelite," "Dynagem," and "Jewelite."

Strontium Titanate is typically created via flame-fusion and comes in variety of colors.  Not only is it used as a beyond average fiery gemstone, it has been used historically for optical instruments, high-voltage capacitors, voltage-dependent resistors, advanced ceramics, and substrates for superconductors.

Collect this fiery and rare diamond simulant of a bygone era!
