Pyrope garnet is primarily composed of magnesium aluminum silicate. Its chemical formula is Mg₃Al₂(SiO₄)₃  indicating that it is a mixture of magnesium, aluminum, and silicon dioxide. In addition, trace elements such as iron and chromium can be present, which can affect the gemstone's color and appearance. Pyrope garnets are known for their deep red hue, which gives them their characteristic fiery appearance.
