Lindi Garnets from Tanzania are a unique variety within the pyrope-spessartine series, known for their exceptional clarity, brilliance, and striking colors. These garnets range from deep reds and fiery oranges to rare pinks and purples, sometimes displaying a color shift under different lighting (see photo)

Mined through small-scale artisanal methods, Lindi Garnets are typically found in alluvial deposits. Over time, erosion has transported them from their original host rock into riverbeds and near-surface gravels. Due to the manual extraction process and scattered distribution, high-quality rough is rare.

Chemically, Lindi Garnets contain both magnesium and manganese, blending the deep reds of pyrope with the vibrant oranges and pinks of spessartine. Their high refractive index make sparkling gemstones

With limited availability and their unique color spectrum, Lindi Garnets stand out among other garnet varieties. Even under the best of circumstances, Lindi garnets will always have some very fine silk
