This piece is quite special and is the king stone from the parcel we aquired
Orange chalcedony from Namibia’s long-closed deposit, mined in the late 1980s–90s before the region was exhausted. Unlike the modern dyed or heat-boosted material on today’s market, this old stock shows its natural iron-based color — a clean, saturated orange with no brown cast. When backlit, the stones take on a distinctive “jelly glow,” a trait collectors still use to differentiate the original Namibian find from later material.
Highly workable for cabbing, carving, or small accent stones, and increasingly difficult to source in any grade. A true remnant of a deposit that is no longer producing
