Collection: Synthetic Rutile
Synthetic Rutile made its entrance onto the gem scene in 1948 and was sold as a diamond simulant called Titania. It is made through the flame fusion process and comes in a variety of colors. It has a moh's hardness of 6, incredible dispersion (approximately 0.330, compared to diamond's 0.044), and refractive indices of 2.616 to 2.903. It is a fiery, brilliant gemstone worthy of any synthetic rough collection.
