Petrified Palm Wood – Bagan, Burma

Slice of petrified palm wood from the Bagan region of Burma. The material displays the distinct dotted pattern of preserved vascular bundles, a hallmark of fossilized palm. Over time, the organic material was replaced by silica, creating a stone that retains the cellular structure of the original plant. These slices show a natural variation of black, grey, and tan tones, ideal for study or lapidary use.
