We are excited to offer this remarkable black opal from the Volyn Deposit, Zhytomyr region, Ukraine, specifically Pegmatite #325, discovered in 2018. This opal stands out not only for its rich black hue and smooth, glassy texture but also for its unique geological story. Found in a region historically known for its pegmatites, this opal represents an unusual formation within a pegmatitic environment rather than the volcanic or sedimentary settings typically associated with opals. 

The discovery of this material highlights the unique hydrothermal processes that precipitated silica into voids and fractures, creating this rare and fascinating opal.
