These boxes are the result of an exhaustive effort to find the highest quality plastic gem boxes we could find.

We tested many boxes from Thailand and China to see how they held up in terms of the quality of the foam, the whiteness of the foam, the texture of the foam (texture is especially important for close-in photography) and for the overall condition and quality of construction.

Each box we tested was lacking in one of these critical areas. Most usually the white foam was an off-white, or the texture was too coarse and looked horrible with close-in photography.

We finally came across these boxes that are made in Europe and could not be more pleased with the results!

The foam is a memory-type foam, the tops are a pure white and the texture is very smooth. These were the clear winner of our search.
