Moonstone

Facet quality Moonstone is quite rare.  These pieces have all been, to some degree, preformed.  Ranging from blue to silver sheen, Burmese Moonstone is the stuff of legend!
This photo was taken in 2019 while on a buying trip to the closed city of Mogok, Myanmar (Burma). This is the daily morning gem market and is where I would start my buying each day. Unlike many parts of Africa, where the gem trade is predominately male dominated, in Mogok, I'm often negotiating with well-dressed women who really know their stuff.
