Umba Garnet from the Umba Valley of Tanzania.  These stones have a thick skin that once removed reveals a glowing orange/red gemstone.⁠⠀Not to be confused with Umbalite, Umba garnets are a mixture of pyrope and spessartite. These are not always available so it's nice when they pop up now and again. They have a bit of a cult following for those who have faceted them before. From the Umba Valley of Tanzania. Graded eye-clean or better because the thick skin can make it difficult to spot really small stuff.
